Camila Mendoza Olmos, 19, is missing and is thought to be “in imminent danger,” according to a Texas sheriff.

The sheriff added, “We’re also not ruling out that this case may take us outside the borders of the continental United States.”According to Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar, authorities think 19-year-old Camila Mendoza Olmos, who vanished on Christmas Eve, is “in imminent danger.”

According to Salazar, the Homeland Security Department is monitoring international travel and border crossings, and the FBI is providing technical assistance.

He stated, “We definitely don’t want to miss anything,” the site reported. “A few square miles is the extent of the ground search. Additionally, we’re not ruling out the possibility that this case will require us to leave the continental United States.”

FBI joins the hunt for Camila Olmos, a missing adolescent

Despite Olmos being an American citizen, the sheriff verified that the young woman had not been arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“I was personally concerned about that. I thus had it examined to make sure she wasn’t in a federal detention facility and that there had been no stops or detentions. According to the publication, Salazar said, “That is something we needed to check.”

“Camila was last seen leaving her residence at approximately 6:58 a.m. on Wednesday, December 24, 2025,” according to a December 24 Facebook post from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. On camera at the moment, an unnamed person—possibly Camila—is seen looking inside her car for an unknown object. The video terminates a few moments later. Given that her car was still there, it is thought that she departed the house on foot.

“Her car key and possibly her driver’s license are the only items known to be on her person,” the post states. According to Camila’s mother, Camila typically takes a morning stroll, but she started to worry when Camila failed to return in a timely manner.

A 19-year-old who was reported missing after failing to return from her usual morning stroll on Christmas Eve was still being sought after by Texas law enforcement on Monday.

The sheriff’s office reports that Camila Mendoza Olmos was last observed leaving her home in northwest Bexar County at approximately 6:58 a.m. on December 24.

The video was captured by a neighbor’s doorbell camera, Olmos’ aunt told NBC News.

Olmos is thought to have fled her home on foot by officials. In a Facebook post, the sheriff’s office stated, “The only items known to be on her person are her car key and possibly her driver’s license.”

She was last spotted sporting white shoes, baby-blue pajama bottoms, and a black and blue hoodie.

Camila’s mother, Nancy Olmos, informed the sheriff’s office that her daughter typically takes a morning stroll. When the 19-year-old failed to return after a typical amount of time, she became worried.

Nancy Olmos told NBC News that Camila’s family discovered her cellphone switched off in her room and that “she’s not the kind of person” to leave home suddenly.

On Sunday, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar informed ABC News that Olmos is thought to be in “imminent danger.” An email from NBC News asking for more details on that description was not immediately answered by the sheriff’s office.

Olmos’ mental health may have played a role in her disappearance, according to Salazar, who independently told NBC News that she was dealing with “some depression issues.”

“We have to look at the whole gamut of possibilities,” Salazar continued. “Did she travel abroad? Did she travel abroad with someone else? Has she been seized against her will?

Olmos is a fun-loving young woman who loves attending religious services, according to an interview with her acquaintances. They were shocked that she had vanished.

Estrella, a friend, told the affiliate station, “It’s completely not normal to know that she’s not home,”
