iPhone model list Apple unveiled iOS 18, the most recent version of its operating system, with a number of new features, design updates, and AI advancements, during the June WWDC 2024 event. iPhone owners are waiting for the formal release of the OS, which has been in the testing phase for some time. The most notable addition of iOS 18 is Apple Intelligence, which brings AI-powered capabilities to a number of iOS apps, including Messages, Photos, Apple Voice Assistant Siri, and more. Nevertheless, only a select few iPhone models will support iOS 18 and its AI features. This is a list of all iPhone models that are compatible with iOS 18.

The AI functions will not be immediately available to the general public, even though iOS 18 will be released with new features and improvements. As a result, there are rumors that Apple plans to roll out AI features progressively throughout the year.

Users of the iPhone X or previous generations might want to think about upgrading to a new model that supports iOS 18. Keep in mind that iOS 18 will work with any iPhone model that supports the A12 Bionic chipset or later. But only the iPhone 15 Pro versions and other future iPhones will be able to use the AI features.

Next month, as soon as Apple releases their 2024 flagship phones, the company plans to release iOS 18. Following its initial preview at WWDC 2024 this year, iOS 18 has been going through beta testing on iPhones. For those who are unaware, there are two versions of the software available: developer and public beta. App developers can access the iOS Developer Beta, while anyone wishing to test new features ahead of time can access the Public Beta. Both are free to download; however, a premium developer beta with far more comprehensive developer kits is also offered. That being said, developer betas could have errors and malfunctions and be less stable than public betas.

And a lot has been said about the latest iOS 18 beta, particularly about its call transcription feature. Call transcription will be available for earlier, non-Pro models of the iPhone 15 and 16 series, however some iOS 18 capabilities, such as the Apple Intelligence features, will only be available on the Pro devices. The iPhone 12 and subsequent generations will be able to utilize the feature. We’ve been using an iPhone 14 Plus to test this capability. iOS 18 has several nice features, such as more control over widgets and customizations for the control center, but we believe the new iPhone call recording and transcription feature—particularly the transcription component—is really revolutionary.
