Heavy rains going on in Maharashtra due to which flooding like situation is taking place everywhere in the Maharashtra region. In this statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Statue which is unveiled by PM Modi comes under strong wind and finally collapses in the ground. The chief minister of Maharashtra described the collapse as tragic and directed an investigation, however he also made a suggestion that high winds might have caused it.
Opposition has taken that issue by saying that cheap material has been used to make this Statue and there is big scam involved in this. They want investigation for it.
Monday saw the fall of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi had unveiled in December of last year. Local police filed a formal complaint (FIR) against structural consultant Chetan Patil and contractor Jaydeep Apte following the event.
According to Sindhudurg Police, they have been booked under sections 109, 110, 125, 318, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). “An FIR has been registered by local police in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue incident against contractor Jaydeep Apte and structural consultant Chetan Patil under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Sections 109, 110, 125, 318, and 3(5),” the news agency ANI said.
This incident occurs just a few months after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the statue at Rajkot Fort on December 4, 2023, Navy Day. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde called the collapse of the statue honoring the people of Sindhudurg “unfortunate.” The CM also mentioned that PWD and Navy representatives would be stopping by the location to look into the circumstances behind this occurrence.
