Maharashtra Municipal Election Results Live: Congress finds cheap solace in Latur, while Saffron sweeps civic polls. Maharashtra held civic body elections in 29 municipal corporations, including major cities like Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Nagpur, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and Nashik, after almost nine years.

The focus has now turned to counting, which started today, after polling was finished on Thursday with an overall turnout of 46–50%. There were a number of well-known political contests during the elections. One of the main topics of discussion was the Thackeray brothers’ alliance against the BJP-led coalition, which included Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena.

Members of the Pawar family banded together in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad to protect their ancestral strongholds. Notably, the NCP and NCP (SP) put aside their differences for the municipal polls and jointly fielded candidates, while being on opposing sides at the state level. This added another element of intrigue to the results.

“The BJP-led NDA Mahayuti and its dedication to development-driven administration are strongly endorsed by the decisive result of Maharashtra’s municipal elections. The people’s faith in the BJP’s vision and pro-people policies, led by Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, is reflected in this mandate.

I extend my congratulations to State BJP President Shri @RaviDadaChavan, Deputy Chief Minister Shri @mieknathshinde, and Maharashtra Chief Minister @Dev_Fadnavis. He added on X, “I would also like to commend every BJP Karyakarta for their efforts on the ground, which have contributed to this outstanding result.”

Maharashtra Local Body Elections: PM and CM’s development plan is what led to the victory

The BJP-Sena alliance’s victory in the Maharashtra Civic Body elections was praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Maharashtra voters supported Mahayuti’s welfare programs and good governance.

“Maharashtra, thank you! The NDA’s goal of excellent administration and public welfare has been blessed by the enthusiastic people of the state! The NDA’s relationship with the Maharashtra people has become even closer, according to the outcomes of several municipal corporation elections. People’s hearts have been moved by our performance and the development vision. I want to sincerely thank everyone in Maharashtra. He added, “This mandate is a celebration of the glorious culture associated with the state and will give greater momentum to progress.”

Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai hailed his colleagues in Maharashtra after the state’s enormous victory.

“Mumbai residents have expressed themselves in a very clear and concise manner! Development-first government is overwhelmingly supported by the Mahayuti alliance’s historic victory in the BMC elections. This is the Triple Engine that provides genuine, palpable progress for every citizen, from local bodies at the grassroots level to the parliamentary chambers. Mumbai opted for unity, progress, and inclusive growth while the opposition traded in divisive myths meant to split the populace.

I would like to express my sincere congratulations to the leaders of the Mahayuti Alliance, BJP karyakarthas, and Maharashtra Chief Minister Thiru @Dev_Fadnavis avl and Deputy Chief Minister Thiru @mieknathshinde avl for this incredible achievement. Mumbai is leading the way in infrastructure, urban growth, and citizen welfare thanks to the innovative central policies of our Hon. PM Thiru @narendramodi avl and the outstanding state administration. Voters have rewarded this government.

The opposition was relying on the unsuccessful attempt to divide Mumbaikars along linguistic and regional lines, a 20th-century relic that the people vehemently disapproved of. The opposition stuck to an antiquated narrative of regional hostility while our NDA government spoke about growth, jobs, and building infrastructure. He remarked on X, “Mumbaikars chose substance over divisiveness.”

BJP spokesperson Pankaja Munde told ANI following the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance’s overwhelming victory in the Maharashtra Civic Body elections: “PM has done a lot for development in the country as well as Maharashtra.” Similarly, our alliance and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis have accomplished a great deal. This is a triumph of it.
